Trudeau calls China’s response to "buzzing" Canada's fighter jets "irresponsible and provocative"

On Monday, Beijing warned Canada against “committing any risky and provocative acts” after China said Canadian military jets have stepped up reconnaissance and provocations against China.

The Chinese military took reasonable measures to deal with Canada's actions and have made “solemn representations” via diplomatic channels, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian told a news conference.

Later in the day, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded to these comments on Monday.

Trudeau said China’s justification of harassing Canadian fighter jets during a UN mission to enforce sanctions on North Korea was “irresponsible and provocative.”
