Beijing claims Australia seriously threatened China's security and sovereignty during a jet incident – warning Australia to stop “provocative acts”.

China's foreign ministry spokesperson says the nation's military responded in a “reasonable” and “lawful' manner” --- when intercepting an Australian military surveillance aircraft over international airspace last month.

The Australian government raised concerns with China on Sunday after a Beijing fighter aircraft intercepted a surveillance plane in the South China Sea region in May.
