This morning we will look at several Old Testament passages and a couple in the New Testament and one of God's titles with military implications. He is Yahweh Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts. Throughout Scripture, well over 200 times, we find the title Lord of Hosts (or Lord of Armies, depending on your bible translation.) David fought Goliath in the name of the Lord of Hosts! The Lord of Hosts is the one who fights on behalf of his people and the one in whom his people find comfort. The Lord of Hosts is our saving, warrior God.
