Taliban Are Just Kilometers Away from Kabul - What Options Does Afghanistan Have?

After failed US withdrawal on 1st May 2021, Taliban have stepped up their attacks on Afghan security and government forces. Their ultimate goal is to establish the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan with an interim government. Taliban have reached out to major world powers like Russia, China, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and the European countries to let them join the main stream political parties and world governments.

The US has pledged to withdraw all its forces till 11th September 2021 along with other NATO countries. This puts the current Afghan government and their leader Ashraf Ghani in a turmoil as to what will happen to them? Taliban are in no mood to let current factions to rule the country and they’re trying hard to sideline them.

It seems that coming 3-4 months would be extremely critical for Afghanistan as civil war rages.
