Turkish Technology: The Next-Gen Most Advanced Aircraft Carrier. Since World War II, the value of aircraft carriers as mobile air bases has been established. While the US Navy owns the largest aircraft carrier in the world, the Gerald R. Ford Class, five of the ten largest aircraft carriers in the world by displacement are operated by Asian naval forces. The USS Gerald R. Ford finished its initial planned incremental availability. The six-month PIA includes maintenance and modernization tasks to give the carrier the most recent updates. The 4.5-acre flight deck on the 332.8-meter-long supercarrier can accommodate more than 60 aircraft. Each ship rises 20 storeys above the water and has space for 3,000–3,200 crew members, 1,500 aircraft, and 500 extra crew members.
