Loud enough to shatter your ear drums, fast enough to outrun fighter intercept, the B1 Lancer is perhaps the most insane planes to ever take to the skies. While the superheated glow of its four massive turbofan engines will catch your eye, it is the sheer capabilities of this aircraft that will blow your mind.

Like the B-2 it’s designed for strategic nuclear strikes, but it goes about this by completely different means. Instead of staying off of enemy radar screens with stealth, the B1 uses sheer speed to penetrate deep into hostile territory. With its adjustable swept wings, the B1 can go from a comfortable cruise to a low altitude dive and insertion in mere moments.

It can cruise at low altitude under enemy radar screens at a jaw dropping 700 miles per hour, its speed only limited by the fact that going any faster at such altitudes would rip the plane apart. Its maneuverability and speed rivals that of the best fighter aircraft, making its insertion next to impossible to detect, and its extraction almost impossible to chase.

The B1 Lancer lives up to its name, acting as a spear to thrust deep into enemy territory and deliver the knockout blow.
