It was the last week of January 1945, and Operation Hannibal had just kicked off. Surrounded by almost two million Red Army soldiers, the Wehrmacht knew the German populace in Eastern Prussia would soon crumble under Stalin's iron grip despite all their efforts.

Even so, Admiral Karl Dönitz had a secret plan to rescue as many civilian and military personnel as possible from the Pomeranian Coast.
