#The sr-71 blackbird strategic reconnaissance aircraft was built by Lockheed Martin Corporation and designer Clarence Johnson.
It began flying in 1964 and continued until it was retired in 1999. And today the SR-71 looks like a new generation aircraft it is one of the most famous and fastest aircraft in the world.
It was built to fly at about Mach 3.4, which equates to speeds in excess of 2,500 miles per hour or 4,000 kilometers per hour.
Although the spy plane is designed to monitor countries such as Russia and China, the sr-71 has actually never been over Russian or Chinese territory.
The blackbird's cameras could take pictures so clear you could read the license plate on the ground while the plane was 79,000 feet above the ground and at over 2,000 miles per hour it could record its entire flight path with infrared cameras to prove to other countries that it was not violating airspace either.
