Spain’s King Felipe
attended the FLOTEX-22
Naval exercise
organized by the Spanish Navy,
at the Rota Naval Base
in Rota, Cadiz, Spain on Wednesday
 
Four thousand units
from the Spanish Army
and Air Force
permanent NATO groups and
units from the US, the UK and
Belgium participated,
in addition to
those integrated in
the EU Maritime Force
 
Named FLOTEX-22,
the exercise is an event that
demonstrates the level of
capacity and professionalism of
the power of the Spanish Navy
 
Moreover, it aims to
strengthen the preparedness
in crisis response operations
in order to train
naval tasks such as
maritime power projection,
sea control and
maritime security awareness
 
Spain will host on June 28-30
a NATO summit
in Madrid
amid the Ukraine Crisis
with potential
new alliance allies
 
NATO Secretary-General
Jens Stoltenberg said Monday that
the Madrid Summit
will be “historic” as
he looked forward to
welcoming Sweden and Finland
 
He also reaffirmed
his invitation for
Ukrainian President Zelensky to
take part in the military bloc’s
Madrid Summit
