Russia's defense ministry said on Saturday that it shot down a Ukrainian military jet delivering armaments to the Black Sea town of Odesa.

They also claimed to have fired missiles and successfully attacked an artillery training camp in Ukraine's Sumy area, according to TASS. The training facility purportedly housed foreign instructors.

Another attack, it was alleged, damaged a "foreign mercenaries'" station in the Odessa area.

The fight for Sievierodonetsk

This comes as the war for Sievierodonetsk has heated up, with Ukraine claiming to have reclaimed a part of the industrial town in the conflict.

Serhiy Haidai, governor of Luhansk, stated on Saturday that the Russian army is demolishing bridges in the region to prevent Ukrainian reinforcements from entering.
