Onboard one of my all time favourite aircraft, the Boeing 787! The main reason for my trip was to get myself on this beauty and it was certainly worth the wait. Filmed from seat 5K & a lots shots from empty seat 5A opposite, offering a spectacular wing view of the 2x General Electric GEnx. This Scoot B787, at the time was operating three days a week to Athens Airport, making it Greece's largest regular visitor. A 2 engine, widebody aircraft on any Greek Country is a huge rarity so I jumped at the opportunity to get myself on this, also as B787s are being delivered across the world.
A rather busy flight heading to Berlin this day, exactly 240 passengers onboard. We started engines on stand just a few minutes after our scheduled departure time and taxied down to RWY03R for a standard departure towards Petalioi Gulf. Once airborne an almost immediate left hand turn to take over the stunning coastline and out towards Mainland Greece and Bulgaria . Luckily the forward cabin where I was sitting, wasn't very busy at all, meaning when we were airborne I could move to the opposite side to see some gorgeous views of the Vihren and spot Sofia West Airport, city & Old Town down below. We continued at 43,000ft up the Adriatic, passing over the top of Hungary before beginning our descent over the country of Czechia and landing onto Berlin's longest runway, RWY28L. Some stunning views during the approach, sun beaming through the breaks in the clouds, lighting up the Germen countryside & highlighting the white wingtip which contrasts nicely against the white engines and green fields.
