The First Sea Lord has paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II, saying Her Majesty "had a natural affinity with her Armed Forces and deep family ties to the Royal Navy".

Admiral Sir Ben Key said that as the daughter, wife and mother of Naval Officers Her Majesty "played a central role in the life of the Royal Navy".
