Welcome to "London Calling," a day-by-day walk through the Battle of Britain: the fight, the men, the fallen heroes, and the brave Few who walked away alive. Commemorate these men who came in Britain's darkest hour: men from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Czechoslovakia, Poland, France, Norway, India, Canada, South Africa, Rhodesia, Bermuda, Hong Kong, Malaya, the United States and every other imaginable corner of the globe, both free and under the jackboot of oppression.

Today: Adlertag! The commencement of Germany's primary offensive against airfields and the ability to wage war. Prior to today, coastal shipping and maritime facilities were the targets of choice. After today, it will be a fight in and for the skies of Britain as Germany pushes for victory in the West before unleashing the Fatherland's wrath upon their traditional enemies in the East, the Soviet Union.

German Losses:
39 Aircraft
66 Pilots & Aircrew

British Aircraft Lost: 15

Lost this day:
F/O Richard Lindsay Glyde
P/O Felix Stafford Gregory
Sgt Henry James Marsh
Sgt Philip Purchall Norris

Eternal memory grant unto these few to whom we many owe so much.
