Just how stealthy is B-2 stealth Bomber? Well, let me share with you an incident that happened on B-2's very first deployment. On the opening night of operation allied force, a pair of B-2 stealth bombers was coming from the mainland U.S., to strike military targets in Serbia. 10 F1 17 nighthawks also took off from Aviano airbase in Italy, and later joined the B-2s. These multi-billion dollar stealth bombers had only 2 F-15s to protect them, if anything goes wrong. Soon after they crossed into Serbian air space, F-15's radar detected an unidentified aircraft, coming towards them, and it was a Serbian Mig-29 fulcrum. The F-15 quickly made a move, and engaged the mig, blowing up into a fireball. But one thing to be noted here is, when all this engagement between the F-15 and Mig-29 was going on, both B-2s, one above the other, were flying directly overhead the Mig-29, and the Mig pilot had "ZERO" idea of their presence. This demonstrates the advanced cutting edge stealth technology of B-2. Soon after this engagement, stealth bombers targeted dozens of Serbian military sites.
