India intensified ‘Operation Kaveri’ to rescue stranded citizens as clashes continue to rock Sudan. The Indian Air Force has been working tirelessly day and night to safely evacuate Indians. Two C-130 J aircraft evacuated 260 people including senior citizens. C-130 J aircraft evacuated 260 people including elders who were above 90 years of age, one above 102 years of age. Around 3,000 stranded Indians have left the crisis-hit Sudan for Jeddah under ‘Operation Kaveri’ till now. Sudan is experiencing bloodshed due to clashes between the army and paramilitary forces. Even though there is a 72-hour ceasefire, there have been allegations of violence.
