Weather has always been the maverick factor in war. It has influenced, and even decided victories or defeats. It has halted armies and has caused more men to die from adverse weather conditions, allowing diseases to flourish than have perished in battle. One of the most eerie manifestations of weather is fog and mist. With its ability to alter perspectives and change the look of landscapes, it can make figures impossible to see. In war, fog can ground aircrafts, obscure targets, and bring advances to a halt.
