Fighter jet crashes into homes during training exercise in China leaving at least one dead

A fighter jet crash-landed on civilian homes, leaving at least one person dead and two more injured in central China.

The J-7 military aircraft fell near the Laohekou Airport in Hubei province during training on June 9 morning, state media CCTV reported.

Footage shows several houses ablaze after the plane plunged into the residential area. The pilot managed to eject himself in time and has been taken to the hospital with one other person to receive treatment.

Rescue personnel are now at the scene, while an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash, the CCTV military channel said.
