Nine military aircraft and four naval ships belonging to China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) were detected in Taiwan's vicinity on Monday, the self-governing island's Ministry of National Defence said. The ministry said it scrambled air and naval patrol to monitor the Chinese military planes. It, however, didn't specify if the Chinese aircraft entered Taiwan's air defence identification zone.
